Wyndham City Council has launched dog off-leash parks review across the municipality, to identify areas where new dog off-leash parks could be created.

Mayor Josh Gilligan said the council was undertaking the review “in response to requests that council has received from residents and land developers across the municipality wishing to see new dog off-lead areas established to service Wyndham’s growth areas.”

Cr Aaron An who represents Harrison Ward including Williams Landing said, "many families in our community own dogs, I know how important it is to have a dedicated space where dogs can play, exercise and socialise in a fenced-off park."

"Currently there is no off-leash dog parks in Williams Landing and only one in Point Cook and Truganina. That’s why we will conduct a review of our off-leash dog parks to identify service gaps and locations for new off-leash dog parks in these suburbs."

Cr An said: "This review will allow Wyndham City to build on our network of off-leash dog facilities and will give dog owners more choice when taking their dog out to play."
