Wyndham City in Melbourne's western suburbs is facing a critical shortage of schools as the population is expected to boom to 500,000 by 2041.

Last week, former Wyndham Councillor Aaron An was interviewed by ABC. Mr An stated that local schools are critical for building liveable cities.

A lack of schools and childcare centres in Williams Landing is forcing parents to sell up and move out of the area.

MORE that 350 residents from Wyndham have signed an online petition calling for a new school in Williams Landing.

The petition called on Wyndham Council, the state and federal governments and Cedar Woods property group to build a school in the suburb.

Williams Landing should be given priority for public schools. As it's the most accessible location in Wyndham.
